Big turnout for HBCA semi-annual Member Meeting  SATURDAY  AUGUST 31.
Speaker, Sarah Melching, from Presque Isle County Emergency Services and Homeland Security spoke to a membership of 35 with information on preserving safety on our beaches, in our homes, and our surrounding community. She emphasized "SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING" especially if anything unusual is found on your waterfront.
Many questions from the audience led to continued discussions.

Flu shots were also distributed after the meeting by Rite Aid Pharmacy and our Anna Beach, First Responder of the Ocqueoc/Bearinger Fire Department.

And a check for $1800 was donated to the Ocqueoc/Bearinger Fire Department from the proceeds
of our annual July Garage Sale.

An additional $400 will be donated to Trinity Lutheran church for their support of two community families
and $200 will be donated to the Onaway Food Pantry. The Pantry can purchase $13 worth of food
for every dollar donated. Our contribution will provide $$2600 worth of goods for the area homeless.
