Huron Beach Civic Association, 16212 US 23, Ocqueoc, MI 49759
The HBCA was organized in 1967 as a non-profit corporation for civic, charitable, and benevolent purposes. It was specifically founded to study, promote, protect, plan, foster, encourage and sponsor activities that benefit and improve the environmental and residential characteristics of the Huron Beach community. The Huron Beach area is located in Bearinger and Ocqueoc Townships within Presque Isle County. The areas covered and served by the HBCA is all property northward from the Ocqueoc River to the Cheboygan County line between US 23 and Lake Huron and all property immediately adjacent to and west of US 23 with the same boundaries.
Thanks to our speaker, Jacob Grochowski, District Forester, Presque Isle & Cheboygan Counties
HBCA had a good turnout of 30+ for the presentation by Jacob. Lots of great information about forestry and the forest services as well as tree conservation and aerial views of forests in our area.
In addition, a check for $1,750 was presented to Fire Chief, Brian Bilinski, on behalf of HBCA members. It was the Chief's first experience with the HBCA garage sale and he was amazed at the coordination of the sale and how well it was run. Thanks, Tom Peterson, for chairing another great garage sale. To date, HBCA has donated $62,715 to the Ocqueoc/Bearinger Fire Dept.
